Join the Aussie Adventure and meet us at MicroTAS 2025 conference
Another day, another conference. The Biodetection Technologies hub will be presenting at MicroTas 2025, held in sunny Adelaide, Australia, between 2nd to 6th November 2025.
Hosting its 29th International conference, MicroTas 2025 focuses on research in micro and nanotechnologies, including microfluidics, lab- and organ-on-a-chip systems, wearables, BioMEMS, and 3D printing, aimed at advancing materials, integration and detection methods.
One of the sessions will be chaired by Hub member, Associate Professor Christabel Tan, who is also part of the Technical Program Committee.
If you’re attending, come see us while you’re at the conference – we’re always happy to connect!
The Hub will present three posters on terrestrial extreme and remote environments, biochemical assays and diagnostics, and sensors and actuators:
Polly Foster, PhD student at the University of Leeds, will present her work on Dustrone: Towards Drone Integrated Miniaturised Aerosol Sampling for Ice-Nucleating Particle Collection and Detection.
Dr Lanka Weerasiri, research fellow at the University of Hertfordshire, will present his work on Field-Deployable Electrowetting-on-dielectric (EWOD) Microfluidic Systems for Elution of Airborne Pathogen Simulants from Electrostatic Collectors in collaboration with partners from Defence Research and Development Canada, Université Laval, Canada, and Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, UK.
Dr Srinivasu Puttaswamy, research fellow at the University of Hertfordshire, will present his work on Microfluidic Platform Employing Hydrogel-based Conductive Electrodes for Precise Cell Manipulation in collaboration with Ulster University, UK.
