Warren Stanley is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Hertfordshire. A member of the Particle Instruments and Diagnostics research group, led by Prof. Chris Stopford, specialising in experimental research developing atmospheric particle sensing instruments using light scattering techniques.
What are you working on as part of the Hub?
I am currently working on the Compact Bioaerosol Sampler, CASBA.
What is exciting you the most about your current research?
I enjoy developing programming skills and other skills to contribute to the current research projects I am involved in. I also really like participating in the creation of pioneering new bioaerosol instruments.
What difference do you hope your research will make?
I hope it will provide easier, more cost effective, and widespread means of bioaerosol detection, opening up a much greater understanding of bioaerosol and its impact on health and the environment.
What are you most proud of in your research career?
I am proud of the impact many of the instruments I have participated in the development of have had in the global community. In particular I am proud of the low-cost particle counter/sizer devices created by my group, which are now mass produced by a licensed company, Alphasense, and sold globally, with tens of thousands of units sold to date (2024).
